Fundraising!

While I'm away my fundraising page will still be open - so if while you're reading about what I'm up to out in Bangladesh you decide you'd like to make a donation to VSO, it would still be very much appreciated! Please do follow the link below and have a look at my fundraising page to see what it's about:

Or if you're in a rush there's another lovely simple way to donate! Just text CBFH63 £(insert amount here) to 70070. The money then comes off of your phone bill and goes straight to VSO through my JustGiving page.

ALSO anyone who donates please remember to add Gift Aid! At no extra cost to yourself an extra 25% is added to the donation amount.

Thank you to everyone who donates! I'm very grateful to everyone who has already, and to those who've not any small amount is appreciated and is going to a great cause.

P.S. I'm leaving tomorrow! Goodbye everyone, lots of love xx

3 . . 2 . . 1 . .

It is only THREE days to go until I leave for Bangladesh! I don't know why I'm surprised by this seeing as I've been counting down ever since I got the email telling me I had a place on the program, but still, I am. And I'm hideously excited too!

Since I got that first email I've been talking and talking about VSO and Bangladesh and volunteering - although actually at the moment I don't really know what it's going to be like out there, or what I'll be doing most of the time, or who the family I'll live with are, or any specifics at all. And though this makes answering people's questions quite a lot harder, it makes the prospect of the whole trip so much better! I'm looking forward to a bit of the unexpected, and I'll let you know about it all as it happens. I'm not sure how frequently I'll be at a computer but I will be writing this blog as often as I can :)

In anticipation of everything I'm busily dithering around the house shaking spiders out of my rucksack, debating just how much sun cream is too much and infuriating Mum with incessant "Mum, where's the . . ?" questions. I'm also eating a countdown of my favourite dinners (which is so childish I know!) and saying goodbye to people - I'll miss you all, send me emails!

So on the 10th I'm up to London to meet everybody, have some basic training and then head off for the airport. I have unfortunately developed a pathetic attitude to flying, so I'm hoping that I'm not going to be a snivelling poltroon about this particular bit but I seem to have no control over this any more! Apologies in advance to any team members whose hands I may be sweatily crushing on Tuesday. But then we will arrive, hurray!

Khudaa hafiz England, nomushkaar Bangladesh!
